Doug Wold, Founder

Doug, a Salem, Oregon native was part of the inaugural class at The Evergreen State College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science. Doug began his career working in Washington State politics and after almost a decade of community organizing and running campaigns in Seattle, he founded Queen Anne Painting as a part-time business out of his home with two friends from college. This flourished to a 50 plus employee painting and carpentry company. Late in 2022, Doug retired and hung up the paint brush for good. In early 2023, Doug sold Michael Philips the business to carry on the Queen Anne Painting name. Doug now splits his time between skiing in Bend, OR and sunbathing in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico.

Michael Philips joined Queen Anne Painting & Carpentry, in the fall of 2020, as General Manager. He is a solution-oriented leader with an extensive background in the industry having spent nearly a decade in project management at building and construction companies in the Puget Sound region prior to joining QAPC.

Michael has expertise in all aspects of commercial painting projects from pre-construction to final project delivery. He specializes in the estimating and management of complex projects. He is highly collaborative, professional, and relentless in his effort to satisfy customers.

Michael Philips

Operations Manager

Michael Philips joined Queen Anne Painting & Carpentry, in the fall of 2020, as Operations Manager. He is a solution-oriented leader with an extensive background in the industry having spent nearly a decade in project management at building and construction companies in the Puget Sound region prior to joining QAPC.

Michael has expertise in all aspects of commercial painting projects from pre-construction to final project delivery. He specializes in the estimating and management of complex projects. He is highly collaborative, professional, and relentless in his effort to satisfy customers.

Michael developed a passion for the trades when he started painting in his early 20’s. He completed his three-year apprenticeship and then worked as a journeyman painter for six years. During that time, he also earned a Certificate of Construction Management from Edmonds Community College and was promoted to his first job as a project manager.

Driven to gain broader knowledge in business management, finance and operations, Michael earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Washington; and in 2020, an MBA from the Carson School of Business at Washington State University.

Michael prides himself in making sure customers receive a quality product that is delivered on time and on budget. He is adept at driving solutions to meet the unique needs of each project and committed to building strong, lasting customer relations.

A Seattle native, Michael grew up in the Ballard neighborhood. He now lives in Lynnwood with his wife, two kids and their dog, Nelson. He enjoys spending time with his family, running and when he finds the time, golfing.
